Chapter V of Six · Marketing Consultation · Newcastle
Buy the answers, not the retainer.
Not every business needs an agency. Some need two hours with someone who has already made the mistakes, and a plan they can run themselves.
- One-on-one with director Daniel Hersee, not a junior account manager
- Sessions from a single hour to a full team workshop
- For owners, in-house teams and other agencies
- You leave with a plan, not a proposal

What's Actually Happening
The expensive part is not the ad spend. It is the guessing.
Most owners running their own marketing are one or two decisions away from it working: the wrong offer in a good campaign, a strong page behind the wrong traffic source, follow-up that stops one message too early.
But they cannot see which decision it is, so they change everything at once, or nothing at all, and every month of guessing is paid for in real dollars and cold leads.
A consultation exists to collapse that guessing into an afternoon. You bring the numbers and the history; we bring eight years of pattern recognition.
You do not need more effort. You need to know which lever.
Why Most Of It Fails
Free advice is priced accurately.
The internet will hand you unlimited marketing advice, and nearly all of it is generic, out of date, or written to sell you a course. None of it has seen your numbers.
The other trap is the agency pitch dressed up as a strategy session, where every diagnosis somehow concludes that you need the thing they sell.
We sell consultation as consultation. If the honest advice is that you do not need an agency, or that you need a different kind than us, that is what you will hear, in writing.
The Short Answer
Black Lion Digital's marketing consultation covers nine areas: Meta ads, marketing diagnosis, website optimisation, copywriting, offers, content marketing, traffic sources, nurture and follow-up, and funnels. It serves business owners, in-house team members and other agencies, in sessions from one hour to several hours with director Daniel Hersee.
What's Included
Everything the job actually needs.
Pre-session review
You share your accounts, numbers and history before we sit down, so the session starts at the problem instead of the introductions.
Diagnosis on the day
We work through your funnel end to end, from traffic to follow-up, and identify the one or two constraints actually holding the number down.
A plan you own
Clear next actions in priority order, written down, with what to change, what to leave alone and what to measure. Yours to run with any team, including not us.
Team upskilling
Sessions built to level up the person who runs your marketing in-house, so the capability stays in your building after we leave.
Agency-to-agency consulting
For other agencies buying techniques that produce results: what we run, how we structure it, and what we stopped doing.
The recording and the notes
Every session is documented and handed over. You are paying for answers, so you keep them.
On The Table
Nine disciplines, one room.
Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Ads
Campaign structure, creative and optimisation from a team that runs them daily.
Marketing Diagnosis
Find the real bottleneck before spending another dollar fixing the wrong thing.
Website Optimisation
Turn the traffic you already have into more enquiries.
Copywriting
The words that make strangers into buyers.
Crafting Irresistible Offers
The single highest-leverage fix in any campaign.
Content Marketing
Content that builds authority instead of burning hours.
Traffic Sources
Which platform actually fits your business, and which to skip.
Nurture & Follow Up
Stop leads going cold between enquiry and sale.
Creating Funnels
The path from click to client, designed end to end.
Part Of The System
One stage of the Apex Acquisition System.
Every Stage · Taught, Not Sold
Consultation walks the same four stages as the Apex Acquisition System: Foundations, Acquisition, Conversion and Scale. The difference is who runs it afterwards. If you have the team and the time, this is the cheapest way to get the system into your business.
The Honest Bit
What we will and will not promise.
You leave with the plan either way
The session output is yours: the plan, the notes, the recording. Run it with us, with your team, or with someone else entirely.
No retainer required
Consultation is a standalone engagement. It is not a trial period for managed services, and it does not roll into one unless you ask.
We will tell you if you do not need us
Some businesses are one fix away from not needing an agency at all. If that is you, the session will say so.
Nothing outsourced
You are in the room with the director who runs the campaigns, not a strategist reading from someone else's playbook.

Straight Answers
Your questions, answered.
How long is a typical consultation session?
Anywhere from one hour to several hours, depending on the depth of the topics being covered and how hands-on the session needs to be. Full-day team workshops are available.
Who are consultations for?
Three audiences: business owners who want to run their own marketing with expert guidance, team members being upskilled in-house, and marketing agencies buying agency-to-agency consulting on techniques that produce results.
Will this turn into a pitch for your agency services?
No. Consultation is sold as its own service and it ends with a plan you own. If we genuinely believe managed services would serve you better, we will say so once, plainly, and leave the decision with you.
What should I prepare?
Access to your numbers: ad accounts, analytics, and a rough picture of what a customer is worth to you. The more honest the inputs, the sharper the session.
